Support Chris' fight in heart failure

Friends,
It is with Heavy heart {with what little heart I have) I write this. For those who don’t know me, I am Christopher Evans. The grates joy in my life is being a father of two incredible boys. I work hard to do my best to take care of and raise them. I love the outdoors and being with friends and loved ones. In 2018, I had a Heart attack which left me with about 40% of my heart working. This event changed me; I was given a gift of life. I feel privileged to be here still, to spend time with family and friends. Even though I had lost some of the function of my heart, there was enough strength in what remained that I would not let it slow me down in life. As I do now, I felt then that my mission in life isn’t done yet.
Wish I could say my story ends there. Unfortunately, my heart has taken a turn and is failing me, it’s given all it got, but it’s getting tired and can’t push blood as it use to. A normal ventricular ejection fraction is around 75% on a healthy heart. After my heart attack, it was 26%, with medication and working with my doctors we got it up to 31%. My last Echocardiogram showed my left ventricular ejection fraction is now 16%. As well the left Ventricular chamber size is severely increased with elevated left atrial pressure. I am now meeting with the Heart Failure and Transplant team, as well as the Congestive heart failure team. The team of doctors I have been working with are incredible, I feel so blessed to be in their care and they are doing everything they can.
This is a very sobering and humbling I know the road ahead will be a complicated process and not sure the timing and procedures from medication to finding a heart match to surgery and recovery as well as anything I can’t wrap my head around right now.
I am on restricted duty (I am sure more restrictions are to come) and cannot work at the level I once did. The daily worry of income, taking care of myself, children, loved ones and personal needs is always weighing on my mind. I ask for your prayers, love, and any support. I have set up this account for any assistance anyone can give. As you can imagine the normal cost of everyday living and medical expenses can add up. I am not sure what the next journey will bring while I recover and go through this.
From the bottom of my failing heart, I humbly ask that you share this link with any Friends and Family and if possible, in giving (any amount will help).
I thank you for your friendship, love, and support
Christopher Evans
