If you are able, please consider demonstrating your support through a donation and joining us on Wednesday to celebrate Chris.

Celebration of Life Wednesday, October 4, 2023 from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Hi-Top Bowl, Highland Story telling will begin at 5:00 p.m. and everyone is encouraged to share their favorite memory of Chris.

Everyone who's had the privilege of knowing Chris understands what an incredible friend he is. You might also know that he's not one to easily ask for help or take a break, even when he really should. Right now, life has thrown some major curveballs his way, and it's making him slow down, whether he likes it or not. The Marshall family is feeling a significant impact from this, not only emotionally but also financially.

Now, you know Chris – he's not the type to put himself out there and ask for a hand. That's where I come in, speaking up on his behalf. If Chris, Jamie, Molly, Megan, or Mackenzie have ever made a difference in your life, here's a chance to give back.

Earlier this month, Chris underwent a grueling 9-day hospitalization due to severe pancreatitis. Remarkably, this marked his second instance of such an episode in the past 5 months. The medical professionals remain uncertain about the underlying causes of his recurring pancreatitis, leaving much to be discovered about his health condition. Those nine days were hell for him – excruciating pain, high white blood cell counts, crazy inflammation – it was touch-and-go with the risk of sepsis. Diagnostic tests disclosed necrotizing pancreatitis, a condition from which he is unlikely to fully recover. After being discharged, he was readmitted two weeks later due to the discovery of a pseudocyst that was causing fluid accumulation around his pancreas. A surgical procedure was performed to insert a stent into the pseudocyst, resulting in the removal of 2.5 liters of fluid.

Although Chris is back home and experiencing reduced pain, his situation remains uncertain. He faces a series of medical treatments and numerous unanswered questions about his well-being. Another surgery is scheduled to remove the stent, while ongoing observations and procedures by doctors will determine the extent of his pancreas's potential recovery. Additionally, he will be undergoing follow-up consultations with an oncologist. Recent imaging revealed a mass on his hip that his highly suspicious of malignancy, prompting the need for a PET scan in the near future to attain a more definitive diagnosis.

Let's stand by Chris, Jamie, Molly, Megan and Mackenzie as they face these challenges as a family. Chris's health condition has made it impossible for him to work. Your support is a reminder to Chris that he's got an entire tribe behind him! Your contribution genuinely matters, providing his family some relief during these challenging days. Thank you for standing by Chris just when he needs it the most.
