Support Chris’ Family After House Fire

Hello, my name is Christopher Truong. I currently live with my mother and father. We, including my older brother, moved from San Jose, CA to Atlanta, GA in June 2006 into this house that you guys currently see in the picture. My mother works at a nail salon every day to support and feed the family while my father is retired.

On March 16th, 2025, at midnight, there was a tornado watch and thunderstorm in South Atlanta. At approximately 12am, a thunder/lightning hit the top roof of my house and slowly started to spread the fire. When I heard the loud thunder, I started to smell smoke and burning in my room. I rushed downstairs to check in front of my house to see what happened. When I first saw the fire that was starting to form in front of the garage, it started to spread towards my upstairs room very fast, so I had to take no risk and leave everything in my room, including my wallet, glasses, social security, and clothes, to force my parents to evacuate out of the house. When we got out of the house, the fire spread everywhere in the house, and it was heavy.

After the fire happened, my family has been suffering a lot from the damage. It was so much to take in as it happened so suddenly. There were a lot of memories we have in this house. I couldn’t sleep since the fire incident from the thunderstorm, and my parents are very sad and heartbroken from this crisis.
