Our beloved, can-do sister, Chris David, has been treating multiple myeloma (blood) cancer for over two years.

Treatment has included numerous flights for Chris, along with her husband, Rich, to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN, from their home in Honolulu, HI, and back again. Their daughter, Annalise, in Nashville, TN, has also flown to Rochester frequently too.

They have been at Mayo for many months while Chris has undergone in-hospital or daily out-patient treatments, often renting a nearby hotel room or an AirBnb.

Fortunately, their insurance has been good, covering a good bit of healthcare and hospital costs. And friends and family have graciously loaned supplies and vehicles for their stays in Minnesota.

But the remaining healthcare costs, plus the long-term lodging and long-distance flights, have been significant and unplanned.

Chris, Rich, and Annalise have faced this journey with resilience and hope, but the financial strain has grown as the months have passed. The costs for travel, lodging, and healthcare not covered by insurance have added up.
