Support Chris' Battle with Cancer

I was first introduced to Chris and the challenges that he was facing in 2022 during our CEO, Bert Bean's, monthly "Be the Light Call". Chris was a recent college graduate, just starting his career at Insight Global, and was hit with unimaginable news – he had cancer. While this is devastating news regardless of the circumstances, the fact that Chris was so young and so eager to start his new career at IG really hit close to home for me. I remember what it was like to be 22 years old just finding your footing in a new career, and I don’t think many could handle the added stress and financial burden of battling a life-threatening illness. I saw the entire company rally behind Chris, lending their support and words of encouragement from across the country. When he applied for assistance from the Insight Global Family Foundation, I was excited to be his case advocate. From my first meeting with Chris, I was awed by his grit and resilience, but most of all, his character. Throughout our many conversations, he was always positive, always upbeat, and ready to tackle the next step on his road to recovery. The Family Foundation was able to grant Chris funds to help with his mounting medical bills in early 2022 – we were both hopeful that remission was in sight, but we kept in touch in case things didn’t go as planned and he needed further support.

The excitement of getting the news that Chris was in remission in May of 2023 was short-lived; and unfortunately, in September 2023, we received news that the cancer had returned. He would require intensive treatment hours away from home in Houston, TX - a massive financial burden for both Chris and his new wife, Michaela. Chris' battle will continue through the holidays and we are hopeful that he will be able to return home in the new year. However, he and his wife will be faced with extensive medical bills.
