Hi, my name is Chris.
My sister and I are going through something we never imagined. On June 6, we lost our mother—who was a proud Air Force Veteran—to cancer. Our mom sheltered us our entire lives and did everything she could to protect us. But when her health declined, everything happened so fast.
She spent her final days on the hospice unit, and during that time, we lost not only our mother, but also our housing and many of the resources we depended on. We weren’t prepared emotionally or financially for her passing, and we don’t have any family support to turn to.
Now, it’s just me and my sister. She has an intellectual disability and needs full-time care, and I’ve become her sole caregiver. I’m currently trying to get her formally diagnosed and apply for social security, but in the meantime, we have no income and no outside help.
We’re also trying to find a place to live. I’m doing everything I can to stay strong, but it’s overwhelming. This is all new to me.
If you’re able to donate—no matter how small—it would mean the world to us. Your support would help us cover basic needs, find stable housing, and give us a little breathing room as we start this difficult journey. Even just sharing this helps more than you know.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart,
Chris
