Support Chris and Shelley in Their Time of Need

If you suddenly realized your entire home had been compromised by moisture and mold to the point that the entire subfloor and joist system required removal and replacement, what would you do? Chris and Shelley Talbott, my niece and her husband, went to their knees in prayer first, asking God for strength and guidance. Their John's Island, SC home was no longer a safe place to raise their beautiful family of six; the terrifying presence of mold and decay threatened their health but not their faith. Yes, Chris and Shelly were shocked with their new reality but so thankful for the awareness of the problem before it affected their family's health. In two days, the contents of their 1,900+ sq. ft. home were packed into dehumidifying storage pods and they moved in with family members. God provided.

Unfortunately, homeowner's insurance did not cover one dime of the needed repairs and these repairs are extensive! All floor joists as well as all subflooring are having to be replaced; even a recently remodeled bathroom has to be gutted! The expense of materials, new flooring, mold remediation services and the cost of labor is shocking. This couple has always been on the giving side of life rather than the receiving end, putting the needs of others before their own. Chris is an elder of James Island Christian church and oversees pastoral care for the body of the church. God has used him and his family to help provide for others in countless ways. Yes, God has provided through the ministry of this sweet Christian family.
