Dear Friends, Family, and Kind Supporters,

My name is Anna, and I’m reaching out with a mother’s deepest plea for help. My son, Chris, is 28 years old, neurodivergent, and on the autism spectrum. He is kind, gentle, and has always struggled to navigate the complexities of social interactions. Now he’s fighting for his life.

On August 17, 2025, Chris was deceived and manipulated by a “friend” he met in an online chat room into a situation that he did not understand. That deception led to his arrest on extremely serious charges. Chris has no criminal history and no intent to harm anyone; before this, he kept to himself, spending most of his time sketching, building LEGO sets, and playing with our dog. Chris was taken advantage of because of his condition, and now he is facing consequences far beyond his understanding or control.

Since his arrest, Chris has been held at Lower Buckeye Jail in Phoenix, AZ. As a single mother and the only consistent guardian his entire life, it breaks me to know that he is behind bars–alone and scared–with people who would seek to do him harm, especially under the false pretenses for which he was imprisoned. He calls me to share his fear and anxiety, especially about frequent lockdowns that sometimes leave inmates without food. I am scared to death for his life and pray that we can help him end this nightmare as soon as possible.

Chris urgently needs a strong legal defense; without it, I worry that he will be intimidated into making false confessions in a legal system that can be overwhelming - even for people who don't have special needs. Chris needs professionals who understand his condition and can ensure he receives fair treatment under the law.

Any donations received will be used to cover Chris’s legal expenses, including professional consultations and court fees; my hope is that we can obtain adequate legal defense to present the best possible case, dismissing or at least reducing the charges against him. Additionally, given the horrifying and painful experience that he is suffering through now, we would also seek to secure Chris an intensive program of post-traumatic therapy and rehabilitation.

Every dollar raised will go directly toward giving Chris a fighting chance.
