Hello All and thank you for taking the time to read my short story. My name is Chopper Smith, I am a 39-year-old father of one beautiful daughter. She and her mother live in Houston, TX. I am currently on the Eastern Shore of Maryland where I am from. I came home to work, save, and return to my child in 4 months. Things changed quickly, I had to change with them.
I am currently homeless in my hometown of Easton, Maryland. It’s me, my incredible best friend Bam Bam (my dog), and my Minnie Winnebago, which is currently unable to live in. I live at the Quality Inn on Route 50 in Easton. Every penny I make goes back into the hotel to keep a roof over our heads, etc.
I live a happy, healthy, and sober life. That has allowed me to get as far as I have. Unfortunately, I am at a point where there is not much else I can do personally. That is why I am here, asking you for help.
For me to live in my RV, she must be capable of producing power, water pump, and electricity. I have a mechanic next to the hotel who will take my RV in, diagnose, and fix the issue. The tow to get my RV there is $100. The diagnostic at the mechanic's is $125. Labor after diagnosis is $105 an hour. Any parts would be extra, depending on what it is for and its necessity. I do not want to waste your time with sob stories. I would rather show you gratitude through action.
If I am able to generate power through my RV, it allows me to call one place home, without the added cost of hotel fees, rent, etc. If I can achieve this, I can save enough money to chip away at everything else and return home to my daughter in Texas. I will never quit. I will do whatever it takes for as long as it takes. Sometimes that is asking for help. Please help give me a fighting chance. Thank you all again for your time and consideration.
Your friend,
Chop
