Hi friends,
I'm Chloe Madison, an artist and self-taught electronics engineer that has been experiencing homelessness since 2019. Since then I have battling an ever worsening economy and a pandemic to start a business that will sustain myself and chosen family via what will become a manufacturing co-op.
In fact, with my upcoming Crowd Supply campaign, there's definitely potential to get Voidbox Industries over that hump, but my personal expenses are extremely tight and I'm not certain I can make it to that point. Nor do I want to rely on that income to pay myself and would rather it go to hiring my first employee. Additionally, I have several more prototypes that are close to release that will add to that growth, but are currently stalled due to lack of funds.
I have made active steps to reduce my expenses as much as possible. This includes living in a van for my first year and since then a bus. Not that I've been able to afford rent for more than a few months in an art studio, or a storage unit.
More recently I've moved from the Bay Area to Joshua Tree where I'm ultimately hoping to settle and acquire land for Voidbox that will be cheaper than any rent.
Unfortunately, my trip didn't go smoothly and am currently dealing with electrical issues affecting my transmission which has eaten significantly into the runway I had. I have been documenting this ordeal and have a video coming to my youtube soon.
Your donations will go to, but are not limited to the following
- Bus repairs & maintenance - ongoing as able to budget or required as necessary
- Cell phone - $30/mo
- 4G internet - $50/mo
- Storage Unit - $150/mo
- Prototype or production runs if able to budget - $200-500
If you want to more consistently and actively support to my contributions to open source hardware, my Patreon is a great place for that.
I appreciate your support.
