My name is Chloe and I'm starting a business with my partner Jenna! We have a 14-year-old cat named Snowy that is still with us after not taking advice from a veterinarian about FOUR YEARS ago. We were told to put her to sleep after she was diagnosed with cancer because the veterinarian said she would only live for another TWO MONTHS. The occurrence of this event drastically impacted our lives and inspired us to help fellow pet owners. Our business is going to help pet owners feel less hopeless when having to hear the hard news about their furry family getting diagnosed with an illness. Our goal is to give them options by educating them with our website about things they could do to help their furry family and also, create a community that supports each other by sharing similar experiences and could potentially give them helpful advice. A portion of our proceeds would go towards helping owners pay their veterinary bills. According to the internet, an average of 80% of owners struggle to pay these bills and unfortunately have to choose the harder option of saying goodbye. Eventually, we would like to also build catios (outdoor playgrounds for cat that are fenced in and safe) and donate them to animal shelters and do other projects that help animals enjoy life more before finding their forever home. "How could a business do all of these awesome things" you might ask? Well... we have created a universal logo that will stand for protecting cats and dogs, adopting and not shopping, and supporting other pet owners. It will be sold on merchandise to make a profit and donate a portion of the proceeds to owners for bills to save their animals and shelters. Our website will be a safe and comforting space for pet owners to go to and discuss with others about topics related to their pet's illness or other issue. Everything is all in the makings as we speak, but unfortunately in this economy we are brought here to ask for help with permit and taxation costs, copywrite protection costs and other startup costs... ANY AMOUNT WILL HELP!
