On June 4, the Pacifica Pier and the beloved Chit Chat Cafe building closed indefinitely due to sudden and unexpected structural issues. This news has been devastating for Ginger Davis and Branden Jenkins, the dedicated owners of the Chit Chat Cafe. They have poured their hearts and resources into this space, recently making significant investments in equipment, food, bait, and other items for sale. Unfortunately, for safety reasons, no one is currently allowed to enter the building to recover any of these items, and it is uncertain if they ever will be able to.
While Ginger and Branden do have insurance, it is unclear when or how much they will be able to recover. In the meantime, they face ongoing expenses, including staff salaries, and the loss of income they were counting on for the next few months. Key equipment, like their smoker for scheduled pop-ups around town, is also inaccessible, putting even more strain on their business and future plans.
Funds raised through this campaign will help Ginger and Branden cover business losses, replace essential equipment, and support their staff as they navigate this unexpected and challenging time. Please give what you can to support these two dedicated Pacificans, and consider making an extra effort to visit their other Chit Chat Cafe location at 5 West Manor Drive. Your support will help keep the spirit of community, great food, and music alive in Pacifica.
