Our hearts are broken for my wife, Olga, and her family. [Update, Aug 2021 - Tragically, Enno has now also passed away. This leaves both children as orphans under the care of Olga’s older brother. They will need ongoing financial and emotional support. Your donations go directly to helping with medical costs, burial, and educational support for the family] On July 29, her youngest brother, Yosep, 41, suddenly passed away due to covid. He had already been to the doctor, was provided with medication and oxygen, but it wasn’t enough to save him. His wife, Enno, was in the same room fighting her own battle with covid, seeing him fade before her eyes. They have been together since high school and are each other’s first loves. She is currently in the ICU struggling for her own life, and their two children have had to witness heart-wrenching scenes virtually, including the burial of their dear father.

We now need to focus on his wife, Enno, and the care of their children. Despite having insurance, the ICU will not accept it, and they will be forced to pay massive amounts out of pocket. Costs they simply cannot afford.

Their sweet daughter, Elena, 8, and caring son, Rafa, 13, will need ongoing financial support for quite some time. They were very close to Yosep, and are having a difficult time getting through this and understanding the loss of their father. This will forever change the course of their future.

The funds will go directly to the following:

Helping to support the immense hospital and ICU costs (still ongoing)
Helping to support the burial and memorial costs
Providing vital and urgent ongoing support for Enno, Rafa, and Elena

It is our hope that financial burdens and stress will not add more to this terrible tragedy. Any amount you can spare will go directly to helping them get through the next months and thereafter to help ease their burden. We will continually provide updates to show how your support is being used to help their family.
