Support Children w Disabilities in Afghanistan!

Support the Enabled Children Initiative’s annual holiday-season fundraising campaign to help us keep our programs open for over 1,000 children living in poverty in Afghanistan who have disabilities.

The Enabled Children Initiative (ECI) is an independent non-profit organization registered as a 501(c)(3) with a branch office in Afghanistan that supports children with disabilities. We believe disability is not inability. We provide residential, educational, income generation support & emergency aid to over 1,000 children & youth living with disabilities & their families in Afghanistan.

2023 has been an extremely busy year for our team. As one the only Afghan-led organization in the country working on inclusive education and inclusive development, we continued to strengthen and expand our programs across 6 provinces to meet more of those in need. Some of these milestones included:

• Reaching 100 families with disability with emergency relief following devastating earthquakes in Herat province

• Integrating over 10 students with disabilities into mainstream schools, who were previously denied an education

• Facilitating employment for youth with disabilities who graduated from our Social Integration Program, including 6 young women

• Reached over 900 families living in poverty with humanitarian assistance, referrals, and support for their child with a disability

• Expanded our in-home education program to reach 16 more out-of-school students with disabilities in Nangarhar

• Provided emergency residential care, education and healthcare to 32 children with disabilities abandoned by their families

We have been able to achieve this due to donations and generosity of our donors. All of our programs have children and families on the waiting lists—some in the thousands--and your donation will help keep our programs in Afghanistan open and expanding to reach more children in need during these challenging times.

This is the impact your gift will have:

• $1250 covers 1-year of midwifery training for a young woman with a disability

• $500 provides 1-year of home-based education for an out-of-school child with a disability

• $330 provides a 6-months tailoring & sewing course for a young woman with a disability

• $250 provides one month of education, healthcare, food and physiotherapy treatment to an orphaned child with a disability at Window of Hope

• $200 provides 3-months of food and essential supplies to a family living in poverty with a disabled child

• $130 provides one month of quality education to a child with a disability at Enabled Children School

• $120 enrolls one family in ECI's 3-month family support program for those living in poverty who have a disabled child

• $80 covers 1-year of healthcare costs of an orphaned child with a disability

• $53 covers 1-year of physiotherapy treatment for a child with a disability
