Help Us Bring Comfort and Hope to Children Fighting Cancer
Hi everyone, my name is Kennedy Houngblame, and I am the founder of Hats for Hope, a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting children battling cancer at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta.
What started as one small act of kindness quickly grew into something much bigger than I ever imagined.
During my fall semester of college at Kennesaw State University in 2025, I began crocheting socks for my college mentor, Emily, and her grandmother, who was fighting cancer. Seeing firsthand how much comfort and love could come from something handmade inspired me deeply. A simple pair of crocheted socks became more than just socks — they became a reminder that someone cared and that no one fights alone.
That experience led to the creation of Footies for Fighters.
As my passion and vision continued to grow, I realized I wanted to expand this mission even further to support children facing cancer treatments. With the help of family and friends, that dream became Hats for Hope — an organization focused on providing handmade crocheted hats, comfort items, encouragement, and hope to children battling cancer.
Our mission is simple:
Our mission is to bring comfort, hope and love to cancer patients through handmade crocheted hats, reflecting faith, love, and care in every pair.
We are currently raising funds to officially launch and grow Hats for Hope by February 2027. Donations will help us purchase:
* Yarn and crochet supplies
* Materials for handmade hats and comfort items
* T-shirts for our volunteer team
* Packaging and delivery supplies
* Outreach and event costs
Every donation, no matter the size, helps us move closer to making a difference in the lives of children and families facing cancer. Even if you are unable to donate, sharing this fundraiser would mean so much to us.
We believe handmade items carry something powerful: love, hope, and comfort during difficult times. Through every stitch, we hope to remind children that they are strong, cared for, and never alone.
Thank you for supporting Hats for Hope and helping us stitch hope into every hat we make.
