Support Chico’s Summer Shootout — A Legacy of Love Through Community Sports

My name is Nylsa Caraballo, and I’m raising funds in honor of my late son, Chico Delgado, who passed away in 2014. To keep his memory alive, my son Kelvin Delgado founded Chico’s Summer Shootout — a community-based basketball league that gives youth and adults a safe, positive space to grow through the game of basketball.

What is Chico’s Summer Shootout?

Chico’s Summer Shootout runs every year from June through August for 10 weeks, featuring:

    •    Monday Night Games for high school athletes

    •    Friday Night Games for adult men’s teams

But this is more than just a basketball league — it’s a family. We’re building a legacy of leadership, discipline, and unity, offering our community a reason to gather, compete, and thrive.

Why We Need Your Help

We’re looking to raise $8,400 to cover essential costs for referees and scorekeepers — the heart of a safe and structured season. This funding ensures every game is run with fairness and professionalism.

Since we’re not yet a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, we don’t qualify for grants or state funding. That’s why we’re turning to you — our friends, family, neighbors, and supporters — to help us keep this program alive.

Chico’s Summer Shootout Gives Back Year-Round

This league is rooted in service. Through Chico’s Summer Shootout, we also host:

    •    A Back-to-School Giveaway that provides backpacks, school supplies, and confidence to local kids

    •    A Fleece Blanket Drive for people experiencing homelessness

    •    An Easter Celebration for children with disabilities

    •    A beloved Family Night with food, music, free haircuts, braiding, and community resources for families across the Merrimack Valley

All of these events are held in Chico’s name — a tribute to his spirit of kindness, generosity, and love for the community.
