On top of this, she must begin a hormone-blocking treatment for 5–10 years, which means she needs to undergo an urgent egg retrieval procedure to preserve her chance of having children in the future. Unfortunately, this procedure comes with a steep price tag of $12,000, which must be paid upfront.

As a hardworking young woman, Cheyenne will need at least six weeks off work to recover, but she doesn’t qualify for short-term disability, making the financial strain even greater.
