Hello loved ones!
Adi & I have been together for 5 years, nestled in the beautiful community of Fairfield, Iowa and steadily co-creating our dream lives. For nearly the entirely of our relationship, we've known that we were going to move, patiently waiting for the right place to resonate. Two years ago, while driving through Montana, we felt the pull. The mountainous, raw, rich land called to us. I sent up a silent prayer, "spirit, if we are to move here, show me a fox." Within 24 hours, we saw 3 foxes.
We left that trip feeling deeply motivated and researched potential places within Montana to live (making individual power point presentations of their pros and cons and presenting them to one another). After road-tripping there once more to checkout out theoretical options in person, we landed on Missoula. It's a college town of 70k that is a very reasonable drive to all of the nature spots we are so enthusiastic about living besides. When we were visiting we naturally fit in with the locals and our exploration of their bulletin boards displayed a wide variety of events that we're excited about. It's a town rich with opportunities, newness and nature. A perfect place for us to spread our wings and fly.
For the past two years, Adi and I have locked in career-wise. Adi has dedicated himself to tattoo artistry, recently having become an apprentice of the craft. The first tattoo he did was on himself and he did great (genuine unbiased opinion)! You can follow his progress at @adiyayatattoos on instagram. I have been honed in on my authorship of the epic fantasy series Akua. I have finished my manuscript (editing is kinda never ending lol) and have been querying for a literary agent for some months now. While waiting for responses, I have returned to editing it (again) and have been writing the sequel in addition to another book. We're both very much at the beginning stages of our big, dream-come-true, successful careers and it is a very exciting place to be! We are launching into this new phase of life with this creative energy fueling us.
We are so grateful for the wonderful launching pad that is Fairfield. We cherish this town immensely. It is such a beautiful home, a vibrant community, a fertile nesting ground. I am so thankful that I followed the impulse to move here at 18. I attended college briefly, opened a restaurant (4 months pre-covid), closed a restaurant, wrote a book and then connected with the women of Golden Magnolia Sanctuary. ( I am feeling so blessed with opportunities as I write this.) Being a part of the birth and growth of a vegan, pay-as-you-may community kitchen has been such a fruitful experience. I am excited to see how this center continues to thrive beyond me.
Fairfield will always be a home for us, though it is time now for us to move forward. Missoula is our next chapter, and we are seeking the assistance of our community to get there. Moving across country is expensive! We are seeking to raise 7k to cover all of our moving expenses and provide us a tiny financial cushion for the leap. If you are able to support us in this way, we would be immensely grateful! Any amount is incredibly helpful, as is sharing this fundraiser and sending us your well wishes. We are a big believer in collective consciousness so any dream-affirming thoughts and prayers will only aid in our journey.
Thank you for your presence.
We love you!
