Hello, my name is Leanna and this is our family's dog named, Chewie. He is a love bug and is the friendliest dog you will ever meet! We adopted Chewie when he was 8 weeks old after our house burned down in a fire in 2023. We lost our family dog, Mulligan, in that tragedy. While we were trying to move on and get back to our lives we met, and fell in love with Chewie. We couldn't imagine our lives without him. He brought light back into our life after a horrible tragedy. Every day he brings happiness to everyone he meets.

Unfortunately, he recently ingested rodenticide, and is now fighting for his life in the ICU at our local vet. We are devastated at this turn of events, my children are not handling it well. He has currently been there for 5+ days and the vet is not sure how much longer he will have to be there. As a single mom of two working as a preschool teacher, I simply cannot sustain his ever growing bill. I did not get pet insurance so I am struggling to find the almost $9000 this is costing me.

Chewie's doctors are doing everything they can to make sure he comes home. My family and I are visiting him every chance we have and we can't wait to get him home. I would be eternally grateful if you would help me with the cost of his stay at the vets. 100% of the proceeds will go directly to Eastern Animal Hospital. If anyone knows of other ways I can obtain grants or funding for this type of thing, please let me know.
