Hi everyone,

This fundraiser is for my 6-year-old corgi, Chewie. He is like a son to me and is always making everyone around him laugh with his derpy smile.

Two weeks ago, Chewie suddenly refused to eat his food and got a fever. When we took him to the vet, he was diagnosed with Immune-Mediated Hemolytic Anemia (IMHA).

I never knew that dogs could get this disease, and it was such a shock to hear that my baby has this. His immune system decided to go crazy and destroy his own red blood cells.

These past two weeks have felt like a nightmare for my family and me. He has already had three blood transfusions and is on seven medications. The vet keeps saying that we need to buy him time for the medications to kick in, but I have already used up all my savings.

As a last resort, my vet now wants to try an IVIG transfusion, which will use human antibodies to reduce the destruction of red blood cells. However, it is very costly, and there isn’t a guarantee that the extra time will be enough for the medication to kick in.

This is all very uncertain, but I am grasping at any hope for this last treatment to save Chewie. All donations will be used for his treatment and medications.
