Hello, my name is Chevell Hall, and I was born and raised in Jamaica. I’m reaching out with a heavy heart to share the situation my family in Jamaica is currently facing after the devastating impact of Hurricane Melissa. Many of you have been kind enough to ask how you can help, and after much thought, I’ve decided to create this fundraiser.
My family in Jamaica—my father, brother, grand uncle, aunts, uncles, cousins, and many others—are all affected by this disaster. Many homes have been severely damaged or completely destroyed. My family is now left without proper shelter, food, or access to clean water. The situation is dire: the price of basic necessities has skyrocketed, and clean drinking water is scarce. Right now, they are using bottled water for everything.
I find it difficult to ask for help, but the need is urgent. I cannot do this alone. Your donations will directly support my family and the communty in the following ways:
Food: Providing my family with essential food supplies.
Water: Helping to ensure access to clean drinking water and water for basic hygiene needs.
Shelter: Assisting with temporary housing for those who have lost their homes or are in unsafe living conditions.
Resources: Covering the costs of rebuilding efforts and other critical resources to help my family survive and rebuild.
Every contribution, no matter how small, will make a significant impact. If you are unable to donate, sharing this page with your friends, family, and networks would also be a huge help.
Thank you for your love, support, and generosity during this incredibly difficult time. It means more to me and my family than words can express.
With gratitude,
Chevell
