Cheryl has always been the kind of person who puts others first. As a long-time family friend and a caring member of our community, she’s touched countless lives with her generosity and kindness. Now, Cheryl is facing one of the toughest battles of her life—she has been diagnosed with stage 4 melanoma, along with other serious health issues. Despite these challenges, she continues to help raise her two young grandchildren, ages nine and eleven, showing incredible strength and love every day. Cheryl lost her daughter-in-law to breast cancer in 2020, which is why she is helping to care for her grandchildren.
Cheryl and her husband are both retired Navy, and their fixed income makes it difficult to keep up with the mounting expenses. Because of her illness, Cheryl can no longer work, and after 37 years at San Juan Photo, the family is missing that extra income they relied on. The costs of rent, daily living, and extra medical care are adding up quickly. The stress of these financial burdens is overwhelming, especially as Cheryl focuses on her health and her family’s well-being.
Cheryl has always been there for others, never hesitating to lend a hand or offer support. She was reluctant to ask for help herself, but I know how much it would mean to her and her family to receive support from those who care. Any contribution, big or small, will go directly toward helping Cheryl cover her rent, daily expenses, and the medical care she needs. Thank you so much for considering a donation and for showing Cheryl the same kindness she has always shown to others.
