Cheryl Little is a 50-year-old, single mom with 2 beautiful children. Her son (John, 20 years old) is a junior in college and attends Coastal Carolina University in South Carolina, and her daughter (Brooke, 17 years old) is a senior at Pinkerton Academy and will be attending East Carolina University in North Carolina in September. Cheryl grew up in the Methuen area and graduated from Methuen High School in 1992. She raises her family in Derry, NH, and has been a long-time resident there for 23+ years. Her children grew up in the Derry school system. Cheryl graduated from Arizona State University and holds a BA in Accounting. She currently works as a Certified Public Accountant for Paolilli, Jarek, Hession & Pare LLC in Manchester, NH. Cheryl's hobbies include travel, dancing, the beach, skiing, golfing, kayaking, and spending time with her family and close friends.
In January 2025, she met with her primary care physician for excruciating pain in her abdominal area. A CT scan was ordered and performed within 5 days of her visit, confirming she had a tumor located in the colon. As it turns out, the tumor was colon cancer.
She was referred to and met with a colorectal surgeon to discuss the removal of the tumor. He had expressed concerns to her given the size of the tumor and potential for blockage. The three weeks leading up to surgery were so scary for her because at any time the tumor could have created havoc with blockage concerns.
She was given a strict diet and laxatives to ensure no blockage would occur. She finally made it to her scheduled surgery during February 2025 with no complications.
Although the surgery was a success, the cancer had spread to nearby lymph nodes, diagnosing her with Stage 3 colon cancer.
She is expected to undergo chemotherapy over the next 6 months with the possibility of surgery to remove the affected lymph nodes. She will have a second PET scan in 3 months' time, after being hit aggressively with chemotherapy. Once that PET scan has been read, the oncologist will determine if she will continue with more chemotherapy at that time or if she will need additional surgery.
We are asking for your support to help Cheryl navigate the cost of medical treatments associated with her colon cancer diagnosis. She has mounting medical bills, a mortgage on the family home, car payment, car insurance, utilities, college tuition for two children, and food for her family.
When we first brought the idea of doing a GoFundMe to Cheryl, she said, "other people need it more than me"... this is why we love her so very much...
We ask that you open your hearts and wallets at this time to help our beautiful friend in her time of need.
