We are Team Cheryl, and we are starting this fundraiser for an amazing woman, mother, wife, friend and coworker, Cheryl Legaspi. If you know her you already know the amazing person she is. She is the one who always takes care of others before herself and the first one to be there for someone during their times of need. If anyone deserves help during a time like this, it's this woman.

Cheryl was recently diagnosed with Breast cancer. Cheryl went for a routine mammogram in February which came back normal. Since Cheryl has a family history of cancer, they offered her a bilateral breast MRI with and without contrast which showed a suspicious mass. After further testing and biopsy it was confirmed cancer, and this is when her life changed. She was informed that she had Grade III invasive ductal carcinoma (estrogen + Her2-). As we all know when you get a diagnosis like this life changes very quickly.

Cheryl has been a nurse caring for individuals with disabilities for over 16 years and will not be able to work while receiving treatment. She has already exhausted all her PTO time for doctors' appointments and will be out of work starting next week for her Surgery.

It takes a special person to work in this field and Cheryl is that special person. She is the mother of two girls, one who is starting college in the fall.

No one should be worried about finances during a time like this and we want to help in any way we can so we decided to start this Go Fund Me to assist financially in whatever ways we can.
