My Last Plea For Help

**Help Cheryl Get Back on Her Feet**
Adding to my request is getting harder and harder. Maybe because there are so many people placing scams out there, that people like me have no chance.
The churches and other funding places have nothing to help with and all I really need is to pay me rent which is $990. That's all I am asking for. I don't even car about my car or food at this point. I just need a place to live. So if anyone can find it in their hearts to help me with this much, I will be more than grateful.....Please

Hello, my name is Cheryl, and I recently turned 70 years old. This is the first time in my life I’ve ever asked for help, and it’s not easy for me to do. I’ve always been independent, strong-willed, and resilient—qualities I developed over 17 years as an over-the-road truck driver. Family has always been my top priority, but unfortunately, sometimes the people you love the most can also hurt you the deepest.

About a year ago, I was living with my oldest daughter. She was given an opportunity to move in with my grandson and his wife, and initially, I was part of that plan. But suddenly, I was excluded and left with no choice but to find a place on my own. The only option I could secure was far beyond my financial means, and here in Florida, fixed-income seniors like me struggle to find affordable housing.

As if that wasn’t enough, my grandson needed a car for work and food deliveries, so I made a deal with him—he could use mine as long as he made the payments and kept full insurance coverage. If he could no longer afford it, I asked for a 30-day notice before returning it. Instead, he texted me one evening, saying he was bringing the car back that night and that the next payment would be on me. To make matters worse, I later found out my daughter had canceled the insurance two weeks prior—without telling me. Now, I am stuck with double car expenses that I simply cannot afford.

I receive only Social Security, and up until this happened, I was managing just fine. But with these unexpected burdens, I am now at risk of losing my car, my home, and my ability to survive. The little food assistance I receive isn’t enough, and I even find myself sharing my meals with my two cats—one of whom, Lucy, needs a special diet due to kidney stones.

I had planned to move back to Virginia to live with a dear friend, but financially, that dream is slipping away. My health is also deteriorating, and while I recently underwent surgery (thankfully with no malignancies—thank you, God!), the stress of my situation is making everything worse.

I never imagined I would be in this position at this stage in my life. I always believed in helping others, and I have done so without hesitation—even when it wasn’t easy. But now, I am the one in need.

I am humbly asking for any help—big or small—to get back on my feet and secure a stable home. If you can donate or share my story with others, I would be forever grateful. I just want to regain some stability, move back home, and live the rest of my years with dignity—not as another statistic on the street.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

**Blessings to all,**
Cheryl
