I am a friend of Cherish, and I am setting up this go fund me to help with hospital funds and post treatment assistance.
On March 5 Cherish was admitted to Jefferson Hospital for pressure in her head. After many rounds of testing she was diagnosed with idiopathic intracranial hypertension, which is an unexplained buildup of cerebral spinal fluid in the brain. She has been experiencing more severe symptoms, such as vision loss, headaches, blood pressure spikes, etc.. Without swift intervention, this diagnosis can cause permanent vision loss.
It is still being decided if surgery is necessary to treat the excess fluid. While she has insurance, she has already been out of work for a few days and may need to be out further while she gets used to the new lifestyle required from this diagnosis. If surgery is necessary (this would be brain surgery), she will need weeks to months to recover and the cost will tenfold. Since the cause of this is unknown, there will be future testing and hospital visits required either way.
We will try to get her as much assistance through her insurance and the hospital as possible, however, after spending days in the hospital the bill will still be substantial. Cherish is a light in many peoples lives and she deserves to heal without worrying. Please donate what you can and share, thank you.
