Support Cherish Spears' Vital Lung Surgery

Hi, I am organizing this on behalf of my friend Cherish Spears, who is in need of financial assistance for medical care.

Here is a statement from Cherish:

I am currently in need of surgery and ongoing treatment for my lungs due to injuries I sustained three years ago during a protest after George Floyd’s death. My ribs were crushed in the incident, which severely damaged my lungs and left scar tissue that never healed properly. I was too scared to seek medical attention at the time due to the arrests. Over time, this scar tissue has caused abnormal growths and increasing difficulty breathing. I now struggle with shortness of breath and persistent pain, making even simple daily tasks feel exhausting. I have to get an urgent surgery to remove the masses but need to do a round of antibiotics before hand. Getting the proper medical care is vital for my recovery and my future quality of life.

Cherish has medical insurance, but it is not able to cover the full cost of the round of medicine they need to go on before getting surgery. We know the medical costs will grow, but for now, we are looking for help in paying for the portion of the medicine that the insurance cannot cover.

We have already asked if the payment could be billed and just have them started on the antibiotics, but unfortunately, that is not an option.
