Hi friends,
This is one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to write, but I’m reaching out because I need help.
As many of you know, I’ve spent many years as an English teacher—nurturing young minds, building community, and doing my best to show up with care and compassion wherever I can. But over the past few years, I’ve been facing some of the most difficult challenges of my life.
After battling depression and needing to step away from the classroom for a year and a half to focus on my mental health, I’ve been working hard to rebuild. Despite my best efforts, I’m now at risk of losing my home if I’m unable to pay my past-due balance by August 1st.
This home has been my sanctuary. It’s where I’ve found safety during dark times, and where I’ve opened my doors to rescue and care for animals who had nowhere else to go. I’ve always tried to be someone others could count on—and asking for help now is not easy. But I know I can’t do this alone.
If you’re able to give anything—truly, anything—it will go directly toward helping me stay in my home and continue the healing I’ve worked so hard for. If you can’t donate financially, sharing this with your network would mean the world.
Thank you for reading this. Thank you for your care. And thank you for reminding me that I’m not alone.
With love and gratitude,
Cherise
