Hi, my name is Chelsiann Clarke and I'm currently a Nursing student at the Northern Caribbean University. Starting my journey in university was far from easy. I started right after hurricane Beryl devastated my home and community. There was little motivation and a big dream but I decided I’m not staying home so I started university, despite knowing where the money would come from. There were days when I felt like giving up and moments that felt dark and uneasy. Despite the challenges I never gave up. I had limited help and resources so I worked on weekends as a market vendor to support my education. I was judged by people who didn’t know half of what I was going through. I told myself that my life wasn’t their story to tell and I kept going. Nursing school is so expensive, still to this day I don’t have all the resources, I just take it one step at a time. I am the first person in my family to attend university and I know I’m breaking generational curses. Nursing is not just a passion, it's a dream. Helping me in whatever way you can to reach my goal will mean the world to me and my family. I am currently pursuing a Bachelors of Science in nursing and just started my second year. I almost didn’t start to lack of funds and resources, however I reminded myself that God is a good God and I should place my trust in him and so I did. My journey had cost me pain and tears but I refused to give up and so I’m seeking your assistance to make it a little easier. Thank you so much for your help. It means the world to me.
