Support Chelsey and Baby Oliver's Medical Journey

Hello everyone, my name is Cait. I am writing on behalf of my older sister Chelsey and my nephew Oliver. Chel is 32 weeks pregnant with Oliver. Oliver was diagnosed with Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia (CDH). This means while growing in utero, a portion of his chest cavity never closed, causing his organs to push upwards through this opening, pushing against his heart. He also has an underdeveloped lung, which means he will need to be on an ECMO machine once he is born.

Due to Oliver’s condition, Chel will need to deliver at a different hospital that is 2+ hours from her home. They are asking her to relocate to Tampa on the 2nd of January and deliver early. Chel is also a mother to a 2-year-old daughter, Alice, whom she cares for as she is a SAHM. Father, Daniel, works a full-time job and is unable to take off work and help with Alice at this time.

In order to help with the cost of time off for Daniel and relocating for close to three months while Oliver heals in the NICU, we are asking for your help. Something none of us ever wanted to do, but we are hoping friends, family, and community will help her out in this time of extreme need. Chel unfortunately doesn’t drive and, as I said, is a stay-at-home mom and will need help with rides to and from the hospital, fees for a place to stay, hospital costs, and other expenses that may come up.
