Support Chelsea's Mission Trip to Uganda

Hello, World!

For those of you who do not know me well, I am Chelsea and I am a member of Element 3 Church in Tallahassee, FL. This non-denominational Christian Church is a Christ Centered organization that believes in welcoming all to worship Jesus at the intersection of Deep Faith, and Authentic Community, and Emerging Culture. Element 3 Church values diversity at the local, national and even global levels, leading us to partner with several international missions, which is where I come in!

This summer, I have the opportunity to travel to Uganda as part of Element 3 Church's partnership with Good Shepherd's Fold Ministries. I will be traveling to Jinja from July 8th through July 19th to serve the residents of the Good Shepherd's Fold Ministry home. This home was founded in 1994 as a means to provide child care, education, and advocacy for orphaned and vulnerable children and to make disciples of Christ through building thriving families and transforming communities into inclusive spaces for these children.

"Why now?", and "Why this trip?", you may ask. Well, why not? I believe that we don't know our own limits until we push them. This trip to serve others where, despite preparation, I am walking into an unknown, preparing to go to another country - continent even, learning about a culture that is unlike my own, attempting to put international phone numbers into WhatsApp, even putting myself out here to fundraise for my first mission trip, are new challenges to my comfort zone and status quo. I believe that by pushing through these challenges, and uncertainties, I can push past my own self-imposed limits of capability. That by pushing past limitations and the comfort of predictability, "Why not?" can become a default call to action in the future. I think that on a broader scale, the "Why not?" mindset shows us that we can dream bigger and help more than we ever originally thought possible.

For this endeavor, I am fundraising $2,200 for travel expenses by June 30th. I am asking that you consider partnering with me to explore how much we are capable of doing for this ministry because, "Why not?"

Any funds above the goal will be donated to Good Shepherd's Fold Ministries for their continued work in Uganda.
