My name is Mark Albini and I represent a small group of people who have come to love a young mother. Who needs your help. Her name is Chelsea Parkhurst. She’s a hard working manager at our local coffee shop that was recently diagnosed with Ormond’s disease aka retroperitoneal fibrosis. Her two children 8 year old Bentley and 4 year old Landon may only have a short time with their mother if she doesn’t receive the treatment she needs. Her eldest son, Bentley was born with Cystic Fibrosis which requires medication, many treatments, but even more doctor visits to MUSC.
In July 2024 Chelsea was to undergo a kidney reconstruction at MUSC to correct her ureter. It’s a tube between the kidney and bladder. It was during the reconstruction of her kidney when the condition of Ormond’s disease was discovered. It is very rare. It’s a 1/100,000 person illness, that requires Chelsea to have stints replaced every 3 months until a solution is reached. Her surgeries requires her to be away from home and work for the operations and for the recovery time before she’s cleared by doctors to work. It starts all over in a few weeks. Even with the added stress of her uncertain future she’s fighting hard so she won’t fall behind on household expenses, work obligations and her beautiful children.
Please help this young mother of two with any amount if you are able to help. The donations will be used for medical travel to Philadelphia, PA and Charleston SC, doctor visits, medication, operations and the expenses for her family during recovery. If you’re unable to help, please pray for Chelsea Parkhurst. She’s worth every penny. Thank you for reading her story.
