Help Chelsea Rebuild After Loss
I was encouraged by friends to set this up and I’m incredibly grateful for the support I’ve already received. From the bottom of my heart, thank you.
My name is Chelsea Keiner, and I was my mother Jeanie’s full-time caregiver from May 2024 until her passing in April 2025. Those familiar with caregiving understand the weight it carries: daily appointments, home health visits, transportation, grooming care, meal preparation, medication management — it’s a full-time job, filled with love but also sacrifice.
I want to be transparent…
My mom passed away on April 10th, and since then, I’ve been trying to keep my head above water. I’m grieving deeply while also trying to piece together a new life — sadly, one without her in it. She didn’t leave behind much financially, as she herself was surviving after her heart transplant. But what she did leave me is priceless: love, strength, and the lessons of selflessness.
For those unfamiliar with our story:
In May 2024, my mom received a heart transplant. Her recovery was promising until her kidneys began to fail, and she was diagnosed with End Stage Kidney Disease (ESKD). Despite many challenges, we remained hopeful. However, in late January 2025, she fell seriously ill again. After being discharged too soon from the hospital in February, her condition worsened. She spent a month in the ICU and passed on April 10th. I was by her side every moment.
Now, I am reaching out for help.
I’m actively seeking employment, but I’m currently facing serious financial challenges. I’m asking for your support to help me stay on my feet and avoid other hardships during this incredibly difficult transition.
I am not use to asking for help, and am very of independent. I was taught to ask for help when you need it and I truly do.
Any donation — no matter how small — will help me stabilize and rebuild as I navigate life after such a profound loss.
Thank you for reading, for caring, and for standing by me during this time.
With love and gratitude,
Chelsea
