Hi, I am a Chelsea resident from El Salvador. I am a proud mother of two boys- a vibrant two-year-old and a blossoming teenager. For both of my boys who were born and raised here, the U.S. is the only home they know.

Earlier this year, their father, a loving husband and the breadwinner of the family, was detained by ICE where he was kept in harsh conditions until three weeks ago when he was sent back to Guatemala.

We are devastated and we must continue on finding ways to live without him. Not only continuing paying rent and utilities without my right hand but also to cover school needs, clothes and shoes for my ever-growing children, diapers and meals.

To cover these expenses, I am currently looking for employment as my family finds its new normal. As we make this transition, we would greatly appreciate any contribution, big or small.
