Support Chelsea Collins' Family During NICU Stay
Donation protected
Hi Family and Friends,
I am writing this on behalf of my sister Chelsea Collins and her family. Chelsea and her family have welcomed their second baby girl Harper Lee Collins sooner than expected. At 35 weeks, Chelsea went in for her weekly check up and it was at that time that Chelsea was diagnosed with preeclampsia on top of having type 1 diabetes. Several hours later, after multiple times of increased blood pressure and severe swelling from the preeclampsia, she was transported to her main hospital UCSF via ambulance where they preformed an emergency c section at 35 weeks.
Chelsea has been discharged from the hospital and recovering. Baby Harper is strong and beautiful however, she is still in the NICU learning to eat and trying to control her blood sugar. Right now baby is only taking about 30% of her milk needs by bottle the rest is by feeding tube, to be cleared she needs to be at 100% feeding by bottle with stabilized blood sugar. During this time Chelsea and her family have been staying in a hotel close by the hospital since they do not live close to the NICU ward.
It is with sincere gratitude that we thank friends and family for reaching out. If you are able to help her family it would be greatly appreciated. All funds go directly to the family to aide them in hotel, gas, and food while baby is in the NICU.
