Our beloved Cheikh Abdou Faye has been detained by ICE and is currently being held in a prison in Iowa. He does not speak English, and has been struggling to survive in an environment that feels hostile and isolating. Recently, he was violently attacked by another inmate, who beat him and broke his nose, all because he tried to protect the little food he had. He received no medical attention and remains in a vulnerable, unsafe position. We are heartbroken and terrified for his well-being every single day.
Cheikh Abdou Faye came to this country with hope, to build a better life and to support his family. He is kind, hardworking, and has never caused harm to anyone. He has been treated like a criminal, but he is a friend, a brother, and a deeply loved member of our community.
We are raising funds to hire a legal team to help fight for his release and ensure that he receives the justice, care, and dignity he deserves. Immigration cases are complex, and time is critical. Every dollar will go directly toward legal representation, translation support, and basic care needs while he is detained. Even if you are unable to donate, sharing this page with your network can make a real difference. Please stand with us during this devastating time, help us bring him home
