Update:
Peace,
Phil and Carron are so grateful for the outpouring of love, prayers, and support. Phil's surgery is scheduled for Friday, Feb. 6. He will have a long road to recovery. Please continue to pray for him and share this fundraiser with your circle. Thank you!!
Chef Phil Jones is a beloved member of the Detroit community, and I have known him for more than 15 years through our work with the Detroit Food Policy Council. On January 25th, Chef Phil suffered a heart attack and is currently in the hospital awaiting surgery. His recovery is expected to take at least 12 weeks, and during this time, he and his family are facing dual challenges of lost income and mounting medical bills.
Chef Phil has always been the first to step up and help others. He is a proud graduate of University of Detroit Jesuit High School and Michigan State University, and a dedicated member of Alphi Phi Alpha fraternity.
If you know Phil, you know he has a heart of gold. He's given to our community in countless ways-- serving as a founding member of the Detroit Food Policy Council, a board member of Keep Growing Detroit, preparing food for those in need including during the Covid pandemic at Huntington Place and participating in organizations like Make Food, Not Waste, Great Lakes Bioneers, and Campaign for Black Male Achievement.
Now, it's our turn to support Chef Phil. Every donation will go directly toward his medical bills and living expenses, allowing him to focus on healing.
Please join me in showing Chef Phil the same love and generosity he's shown to so many. Your support, whether through a donation or by sharing this fundraiser, will make a real difference for Chef Phil and his family during this difficult time.
