Many of you know Chef Monica Pope as a visionary Houston chef, a champion of local farmers and sustainable food, and a beloved community builder who has spent decades nourishing others—body and soul. Over the past year, Monica has been struggling with two painful hernias that have made it increasingly difficult to work, cook, and simply move without significant discomfort. The pain has reached a point where surgery is the only way forward. Without it, she cannot return to the kitchen full-time or to the work that fuels her purpose and livelihood.
