I am raising funds for my husband, Count Foreman, whom many people know as Chef Count, the heart behind Sauté Kingz by Chef Count. For years, our family has poured ourselves into serving the Daytona Beach community. We started Sauté Kingz in 2008 as a small pop-up under a tent in Midtown Daytona Beach, and over time it grew into a family-owned takeout location, catering company, and food truck. Along the way, Chef Count also gave back by mentoring young people, offering cooking demonstrations and healthy-eating programs, and helping create a welcoming place through Sauté Kingz.

Now our family is facing an incredibly painful crisis. Chef Count was the victim of a serious stabbing that left him with severe injuries requiring surgery. He is home now, but his recovery will take time. Doctors have told us he will be in a cast for about six weeks, followed by rehabilitation and additional physical recovery. The emotional trauma from this tragedy may take much longer to heal.

What makes this even more heartbreaking is that the incident involved our son during a severe mental-health crisis. As a wife and a mother, it is hard to put into words what it means to live through something so devastating from both sides. My husband needs time and space to heal, and our entire family has been deeply affected by what happened.

Because Chef Count cannot be in the kitchen, Sauté Kingz is temporarily closed. For someone whose livelihood depends on standing, cooking, prepping, catering, and operating a food truck, being unable to return to his normal role means we have lost a major source of our family’s income for now. The bills at home and the expenses tied to our small business continue, even while the business is closed and recovery is ongoing.

Donations will help us cover household expenses, business expenses during this temporary closure, recovery-related costs, and the financial hardship caused by Chef Count being unable to work. Ongoing support would make a real difference as his healing continues beyond these first weeks, and recurring donations would help us manage the continuing strain while he remains out of his normal role. One-time donations are also deeply appreciated and will help lighten the burden right away.
