Support Chef Alan's Cancer Battle

Hello valued guests and friends of Delaney Lake Lodge.

It's with heavy hearts that we share the news that our beloved Chef, Alan Shepard, has been diagnosed with cancer, and ask for your help.

When Chris and I purchased the lodge in 2015, we were excited to add Alan to the Delaney Lake team. Over the past 9 seasons, he has delighted hungry guests and staff with his dedication, remarkable creativity and excellent food.

Early this spring, Alan began to suffer chronic back pain. After an emergency room visit and a battery of tests, doctors discovered an aggressive sarcoma, a set of tumours on his 10th and 11th ribs. His treatments will prevent Alan from returning to the lodge for the 2024 season.

Chris, Caden, and I, along with the whole Delaney Lake family, were absolutely gutted by this news. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Alan as he battles this terrible disease.

But Alan needs our financial support too. As a widower whose only source of income is his work at Delaney, he is facing a terribly difficult year financially. Any support you can offer will help him focus all his energy on regaining his health.

All of you who know Alan know that his positive attitude and fighting spirit will get him through this difficult time. We can't wait to see his smiling face and taste his wonderful food in the 2025 season!
