Once upon a time, in a land faraway called Learned, Mississippi a dog named Cheerio was adopted by Lainy. Cheerio had been rescued off of State Street in Jackson (hint: this is not an ideal area for any living creature) and my father's wife was fostering her. Every time we visited my dad and stepmother, Lainy LOVED on Cheerio. Back in 2017 Cheerio was one of 6 dogs owned by my father. She was in the middle of the pack and she loved to spend hours wandering & sniffing the acres of Dad's rural MS. land. The love between Lainy and Cheerio was so strong that I asked if we could adopt. Fast forward to 2025 and this tough old bird is suffering from canine perianal tumors. It's really gross and you can google it rather than me explaining. A minimally invasive surgery will help her and of course, we want her to be pain free. In these times of increasing costs, I'm reaching out to ask for donations to put toward Cheerio's surgery. Her butt and our family will thank you for any amount you can give!
