Hi, I’m Mariah. I’m 20 years old and I’m currently in college studying biology with hopes of going to medical school and becoming a psychiatrist.
In January, I adopted an orange kitten named Cheddar Cheese Ball. She is now 8 months old and a very loving, sweet girl. We have created a very strong bond and deep connection. She’s my baby.
Earlier today (5/9/26), she was sitting in my kitchen window above the sink and looking outside. As she was trying to get down, her rear left leg got stuck in one of the slots of a metal dish rack on the counter and she lost her balance, causing her to fall with her leg still being stuck. This caused a break in her tibia. Specifically, it was her growth plate, making it more important to get her into surgery ASAP since she is still a growing baby.
She is currently staying at an animal hospital in San Diego awaiting surgery to realign her tibia so she can heal correctly. This was very unexpected and broke my heart.
I want to raise money to help cover some of the cost for her surgery. Since this happened on a Saturday night (5/9), she won’t be able to see the orthopedic surgeon until Monday (5/11) at the earliest. She will be staying overnight at the animal hospital tonight (5/9) and tomorrow night (5/10).
Thank you for taking time from your day to read this, I appreciate you. Anything helps
