UPDATE*Chaz passed away peacefully on Sunday. His Sister and loved ones were close by. I want to say Thank you so much for everyone’s thoughts and prayers.

I know that Chaz felt so much love from all of us in his last days.

Now with that being said, I would like to keep this Go Fund me going. So we can help his family with expenses of arrangements during this time of grieving.

Hi everyone,

I’m reaching out today on behalf of my dear friend Chaz — someone who has always shown up for his community, and now needs our support.

Chaz has been diagnosed with liposarcoma, a rare and aggressive form of cancer. Unfortunately at the time the cancer has spread and he needs fast aggressive treatments and will not be returning to work as he fights this battle.

As you can imagine, this has placed an enormous emotional and financial strain on him.

If you’ve ever met Chaz, you know how special he is. He’s a military veteran, a phenomenal artist, and truly the kindest soul I know. He’s always giving back — from painting a beautiful mural for the Children’s Hospital in Anchorage, to donating his time, energy, artwork and heart to anyone in need. Chaz is the type of person who lifts everyone up around him.

Now it’s our turn to lift him up.

Funds raised will go toward:

• Medical expenses not covered by insurance

• Travel and treatment-related costs

• Everyday living expenses while he’s out of work

• Anything else Chaz needs to heal and recover
