Support Chayla's Dad and his Stage 4 Cancer Battle

Donation protected
Dear Friends, Family, and Generous Souls,

I come to you with a heavy heart yet a spirit filled with hope. My dad has been bravely fighting stage 4 metastatic colorectal cancer that has spread to the liver for the past two years. This journey has been incredibly challenging, marked by extensive chemotherapy sessions every other week, each lasting three days. Unfortunately, this fight has taken a toll—not only on his health but also on our family’s financial stability, as he can no longer work and we have no insurance to lean on.

Recently, we received hopeful news: my dad has been approved for a newer, advanced treatment at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. This treatment offers a higher chance of success and would mean he only needs to undergo treatment once a month, significantly improving his quality of life. He deserves every opportunity to shine; we believe this treatment is a crucial step forward.

However, with this new treatment comes additional costs. The center is over an hour and a half away, often taking two hours or more to reach. My dad will need transportation assistance, especially on treatment days when the side effects leave him unable to drive. The funds raised will primarily go towards this treatment and the necessary transportation, as well as meals and everyday living costs that have become increasingly burdensome.

Over the past two years, my siblings, loved ones, and I have stood by my dad, supporting him through every step of this journey. I have so many cherished memories with him, and I intend to continue creating more. He is a vibrant soul with a hopeful future ahead, and that is how I choose to remember him.

I realize that sharing this message is a vulnerable step, but my dad’s well-being depends on this more aggressive treatment. As we navigate this difficult time, I am reminded of Suzanne Collins' words: “Hope is the only thing stronger than fear.” This hope fuels us—my dad's hope, my hope, and our family’s hope.

Thank you for your support, love, and generosity. Together, we can help my dad reclaim his life and continue to create beautiful memories.

With all my gratitude,
