My name is Chavanea Cox, I’m 22 years old, and I live in Jamaica. I’m reaching out with a humble heart and a hopeful spirit.

I’ve always believed in resilience. But life has tested mine in ways I never imagined. I am currently battling Stage five Kidney Failure also known as End Stage Renal Disease and Lupus, two chronic and life-threatening conditions that have completely changed the course of my life.

Due to the severity of my illness, I am unable to work. My weeks revolve around two dialysis sessions, each lasting several hours, along with managing the unpredictable flare-ups of lupus. These treatments are essential, they keep me alive, but they also take a toll physically, emotionally, and financially.

Right now, I’m facing a serious complication: my current catheter is infected, and it’s causing heart murmurs, which puts me at even greater risk. In a few weeks, I’m scheduled to undergo surgery to insert a fistula into my hand-a procedure that’s critical for continuing dialysis safely and reducing the risk of future infections.

Despite the pain and fatigue, I fight every day to stay strong, for myself and for those who love me.

But the truth is, this fight is not just physical, it’s financial. The cost of medical care, prescriptions, transportation to treatments, and basic utilities has become overwhelming. I’ve exhausted every resource I have, and I’m now at a point where I need help to continue receiving the care that sustains me.

I’m asking for support, not just for bills, but for the chance to breathe a little easier, to focus on healing instead of surviving. Every contribution, no matter how small, helps me stay on the path toward stability and health.
