My name is Chasidy, and putting my pride aside to write this is one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to do.

What was supposed to be a routine stomach surgery turned into a fight for my life. My first surgeon made mistakes that left me with severe complications — I ended up on life support, endured a collapsed lung, woke up during one of my operations, and have had about 7 surgeries in the past 2 years, with another one still ahead. Because of all this, I haven’t been able to work. My children and I lost our home, and for the past 9 months we’ve been living in a homeless shelter.

It hasn’t just been me going through this — my kids have had to witness everything. As a single mom with no outside support, I’m doing everything I can to give them stability, but the truth is, we are struggling. I battle PTSD, depression, and anxiety every day, but I keep pushing forward for them.

This month has been especially hard. My youngest daughter’s birthday is August 22nd. I was able to get her school supplies (because priorities), but I can’t give her the birthday she deserves on top of everything else. She is the sweetest, most loving little girl, and she has stood by me through all of this. I want her day to feel special, even while we’re in such a hard place.

I’m humbly asking for help — whether it’s to make my daughter’s birthday brighter, to cover essentials for my kids, or to help us work toward a safer, more stable living situation. Every dollar will go directly toward my children’s needs and helping us through this incredibly difficult time.
