On 6/21, our son, Chase, was attacked by several individuals while playing with water guns. He was then shot by an adult male while playing with his other teenage friends on a hot summer day. He has undergone multiple surgeries since 6/21/2024 to repair the damage inflicted upon him and has a long road ahead to recovery. His life has forever been changed because this individual decided that his life did not matter.
He’s resilient, he’s a fighter, and over the last week, he has been doing just that. We have faith in God and we know the truth will come out and those involved will be held accountable. I would like to release the below statement on behalf of my family. Keep us in your prayers
We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to the football team of friends who saved our son’s life by rushing him to the hospital. We are deeply appreciative that they stayed with him during such a dangerous time. We feel truly blessed to have had them there.
Thank you also to his principals (Jackson & Nicholson) for being here on the first day, checking on his well-being. Thank you to all of his coaches and close family. Thank you Coach OC, Lorrick, Nate, Brown, and Earl. Your love and support have been crucial in helping him fight through these serious injuries. Although we still have a long battle ahead, with continued prayers, we believe he will recover.
Chase is a bright, young, charming, and talented son, nephew, grandson, cousin, and athlete. He’s a star student at his high school- being both a rising senior and honor student and a track scholar, who just received scholarships to the US Coast Guard Academy, US Naval Academy, Columbia College and Northwestern Oklahoma State University. Any amount that you are able and willing to give would be greatly appreciated and used towards a hospital bed for the home, ongoing in home care, medical costs not covered by insurance, mental health counseling, physical therapy specialized for athletes, and recouping the loss of his car. Thank you for your contribution towards Chase’s recovery and future.
