At just 19 years old, at a time when he should be stepping onto campus to begin his second year of college and as a member of his college baseball team, Chase Vogtli is fighting a new battle. After suddenly feeling unwell, Chase was diagnosed with an extremely rare and highly aggressive form of cancer. The diagnosis was swift and severe, requiring Chase to spend the last several weeks fighting in the ICU as he prepares for an incredibly intensive medical battle ahead.
Because of the rare and aggressive nature of this disease, Chase had to be urgently transported to the Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center in Buffalo for specialized treatment. While Roswell offers world-class care, the Vogtli family lives in Olean, NY, making the distance an exhausting and logistically challenging hurdle.
The emotional and financial burden weighing on the Vogtlis right now is immense. Traveling back and forth between Olean and Buffalo means endless hours on the road, mounting fuel costs, lodging near the hospital, and food on the run. To stay by Chase’s side in the ICU, his parents face significant time away from work, all while daily bills persist and the astronomical costs of specialized cancer treatments begin to accumulate.
Since the very beginning of the NY Stingers Baseball Academy, the Vogtli family has been a foundational pillar of the program. Chase Vogtli started playing with the Stingers (then the Muckdogs) when he was just 9 years old, growing up on the diamond surrounded by teammates who became family. Alongside him, his father, Robb Vogtli, has spent the past 10 years coaching, mentoring, and pouring his time into the youth of our community. His mom, Marnie, has been a supporter and his biggest fan, attending games and tournaments for not only Chase, but for his older brother Cal, who was also a member of the Stingers Baseball family. Today, this dedicated baseball family faces the toughest and most unexpected battle of their lives.
How Your Donations Will Help
The goal is to raise $50,000 to completely remove the financial stress from the Vogtli family, allowing them to focus 100% of their energy on Chase’s healing and recovery. Every dollar raised will go directly toward:
Medical Expenses: Assisting with the costs of specialized, aggressive cancer treatments, extended ICU stays, and medical needs not covered by insurance.
Travel & Lodging: Covering fuel, travel costs, and accommodations in Buffalo so his family never has to leave his bedside.
Daily Bills: Creating a buffer for essential household expenses in Olean while his parents take necessary time away from work.
Holistic care, rehabilitation and long term recovery for the Vogtli family.
Any further support beyond the family's needs will go to community support.
