John Lennon and Paul McCartney famously penned the words, “I get by with a little help from my friends.” And, friends...our friend Cha, needs a little help.

Her father, Lewis Sears (87), is currently recovering in the hospital in Freeport, Bahamas from pneumonia. Once he recovers from pneumonia, his battle with dementia is still ever present. You see, Cha's mother, Doris Jean (D.J) has been Lewis's primary care giver for years. DJ, herself, has been in ICU, on a ventilator, for the past 3 months. She is currently in the process of being moved to a rehab facility here in Charlotte.

Family and friends have stepped up to look after Lewis these past few months. However, this is not a sustainable fix. To best support Lewis, he needs to be relocated to Cha’s house in Charlotte, North Carolina, for proper supervision and care. Cha needs to continue to work full time to care for herself, her daughter, and both parents. This so soon after the loss of her husband is overwhelming and feels impossible.

Current medical bills are amassing. Future financial needs are calling; relocation to Charlotte and full time in-home care for her father is a necessity. However, being a Bahamian man, he does not have access to the American systems of support. In order to get by and make it work, Cha needs a little help from her friends. Please donate what you can and pass this along to anyone else that can help alleviate this financial burden.
