As most of you know-My partner, Chas Costa aka the foam wizard, endured a heart attack that resulted in a triple heart bypass and valve replacement surgery. I am so happy to announce that the surgery went well and he has since been home recovering. However, he has ran into some complications. The surgeon removed a vein from his left leg to use for his valve replacement. Chas's leg got a pretty severe infection that he is still battling. The doctors said he will likely have permanent nerve damage in that leg. Thankfully, the heart surgery itself went well and he has had no issues with his chest- just has a pretty decent sized battle scar. But Chas is out of work for quite some time and unfortunately is only getting a portion of his paycheck due to temporary disability. Chas is the sole financial provider for a family of 5. I am actively searching for employment as I have been blessed to be a stay at home Mom to our children since our first born was brought into this world. My car has decided that now is a perfect time to stop working- it seems to be the turbo. And on top of that- the inspection is now due but I have a giant crack in my windshield from a truck passing me that resulted in rocks hitting my windshield...so my car is currently not able to be inspected. It is the only car we own. Chas also found out that he has type 2 diabetes (which is why he lost nearly 100 lbs). He has an abundance of medications that are only partially covered by insurance. He has an extensive diet plan that is certainly not cheap. School is about to start which brings its own financial obligations- new school clothing, school supplies and lunch/snacks. Our daughter Elisabeth is very active and is involved in a few different activities (gymnastics, aerial and cheerleading). Our son Aiden is autistic and has many therapies that are not covered by his insurance (Texas doesn't have the greatest healthcare system unfortunately). All of these things on top of the regular bills (rent, electric, water, trash, phone, food, car insurance, etc) adds up to be quite a lot and there is no possible way we can afford most of it. I am hoping and praying I can find a job from home (because right now I have no vehicle to use) and we live in the middle of no where so walking to any sort of employment is physically impossible. I am hoping to help take some stress off of Chas's shoulder's (and mine). I keep trying to remind myself that this isn't permanent and is part of God's plan- I am simply thankful to still have Chas here with us. Thank you to anyone in advance and God bless all of you.
